The compact size uses a G9 base while the larger size uses E26/E27 — check your intended bulb before ordering, since the two sizes aren't interchangeable on bulb type. Wipe the ripple-cast glass and brass socket with a dry, soft cloth only, avoiding ammonia-based or abrasive cleaners.

Will this actually cast rippling shadows on my walls, or is that just marketing?
It's a genuine effect of the glass itself. The shade's surface is heavily textured and ripple-cast during blowing, so as light from the enclosed bulb passes through, it refracts unevenly across the irregular surface — projecting fluid, water-like shadow patterns onto nearby walls and ceilings rather than a flat, even glow. The effect is more pronounced with a clear or bare-filament bulb than with a fully frosted one.
Why do the two sizes take different bulb bases?
The compact Frost (∅5.9″) is built around a small G9 socket suited to its tighter interior, while the larger Glacier (∅8.7″) has room for a standard E26/E27 socket. Since the bases aren't interchangeable, decide on your bulb and fixture size together rather than assuming either bulb type will fit both.
How is the Mirza installed?
Hardwired onto a standard junction box, by a qualified electrician. Four steps:
  1. Cut power & confirm wiring. Switch off the circuit at your breaker and confirm the ceiling box supply matches AC 110 – 240 V.
  2. Set your drop. The standard hanging wire is 59″; custom lengths are available if you need a different drop.
  3. Mount the canopy. Secure the base to the junction box, then match line-to-line, neutral-to-neutral, and ground.
  4. Fit the bulb & restore power. Thread in the correct bulb for your size (G9 or E26/E27) and switch the circuit back on.
Which glass color casts the most dramatic shadow effect?
Clear lets the most light through, so it produces the sharpest, most visible ripple shadows on nearby surfaces. Smoky Gray softens and dims the effect for a moodier glow with less pronounced shadow play. Amber sits in between, adding warmth to the light while still letting some of the rippled texture read on the walls.
