Where does the "Cloud" name come from if the glass is geometric, not rounded?
It refers to the overall visual effect rather than the shape of any single piece — the multiple semi-transparent, geometric glass layers stack and overlap to create a soft, drifting, cloud-like mass when lit, even though each individual facet is angular. The layering is what creates that soft, billowing impression rather than a hard-edged, faceted look.
Why multiple small bulbs instead of fewer larger ones?
Spreading the light across several small E12/E14 bulbs lets it filter through the layered glass more evenly, from multiple points within the shade rather than one concentrated source. That's part of what creates the soft, diffused, warm ambience described — a single large bulb would likely cast harder shadows through the geometric glass layers instead.
How do I choose between the four sizes?
Match the diameter to your table or room: the 5-Light (∅16.9″) suits a smaller breakfast table, the 7-Light (∅20.9″) works for a standard dining table, the 10-Light (∅25.6″) fits a larger table or open room, and the 15-Light (∅33.5″) is built as a true centerpiece for a large dining space or foyer.
