The hemp rope shade is a natural material — dust lightly with a dry, soft brush and keep it away from direct moisture, since the rope can absorb water and hold odor. Wipe the brass base with a dry cloth only, avoiding ammonia-based or abrasive cleaners.

How is the Lauz installed?

Hardwired onto a standard junction box, by a qualified electrician. Four steps:

Cut power & confirm wiring. Switch off the circuit at your breaker and confirm the wall box supply matches AC 110 – 240 V.
Mount the base. Secure the brass base to the junction box, then match line-to-line, neutral-to-neutral, and ground.
Fit the hemp rope shade. Attach the wrapped shade to the base.
Fit the bulb & restore power. Thread in your E26/E27 bulb (max 60W) and switch the circuit back on.

What bulb works best for the Lauz?

The Lauz takes a standard E26 or E27 base bulb, sold separately, rated up to 60W — a higher ceiling than most of our smaller sconces, giving you room to go brighter if you want it to work as a primary light source rather than just an accent. A warm-white 2700K LED suits the fixture's earthy, coastal character best.

How do I care for the hemp rope shade?

Dust the rope gently with a dry, soft brush or cloth. Avoid water, steam, or wet cleaning — hemp rope can absorb moisture and hold onto odor or mildew if it stays damp. Keep the fixture away from bathrooms, steamy kitchens, or any area with direct water exposure, in line with its IP20 indoor-only rating.
