The teardrop base is wider at the shade end than at the foot — this asymmetry is intentional to the sculptural design, not a manufacturing irregularity. Wipe the resin base and PE shade with a dry, soft cloth only, avoiding ammonia-based or abrasive cleaners.

The base is narrower than the shade — will it actually stand steady?
Yes. The teardrop shape narrows toward the foot (∅5.1″) and widens up toward the shade (∅5.9″) for its sculptural look, but the resin base is heavy-duty and weighted low, which keeps the lamp's center of gravity stable despite the visual taper. It's built to read as off-kilter without actually being tippy.
What does "shadow-free" glow actually mean with an oversized globe shade?
Because the PE globe fully encloses the bulb on all sides rather than being open at the bottom or top, light scatters evenly through the shade material instead of casting a hard-edged pool of light with a dark rim — the kind of shadow you'd get from a directional or open-bottom shade. The result reads as soft, ambient fill light rather than a spotlighted glow.
What's the difference between the Orange, Pink, and Cream base?
All three share the same ribbed teardrop shape and white globe shade.
