How is the Bastian set up?
No electrician required — this is a plug-in fixture. Four steps:

Unpack & place. Set the sculptural wood body on your chosen surface — no mounting or hardware needed.

Fit the bulb. Thread in your E26/E27 bulb (max 40W), sold separately.

Attach the shade. Fit the double-tiered fabric shade to the top of the lamp.

Plug in & switch on. Run the 59″ cord to a nearby outlet and use the push-button switch to turn it on and off.
What does the double-tiered shade with trim actually look like?
The conical fabric shade is built in two stacked layers rather than one — a smaller cone sits atop a slightly wider one below, with exquisite trim marking the seam between them. This gives the shade more visual depth and a tailored, refined silhouette compared to a single-layer shade.
What's the difference between the Tapered and Spheres & Discs body?
Both are solid ash wood, but the sculpture is different. The Tapered body (∅11.8″ × H16.9″) has fluid, gradually narrowing lines for a slender, elongated silhouette. The Spheres & Discs body (∅15.7″ × H15.7″) stacks playful geometric shapes — rounded spheres and flat discs — for a more sculptural, statement-making profile.
What bulb works best for the Bastian?
The Bastian takes a standard E26 or E27 base bulb, sold separately, rated up to 40W. A warm-white LED lets the double-tiered fabric shade diffuse a soft, inviting glow that suits the lamp's mid-century, decorative-art character.
