What does "rough-cut" crystal actually mean?
Rather than crystal pendants cut with perfectly smooth, uniform facets, "rough-cut" pieces have a more irregular, hand-hewn edge to them — closer to raw or antique glasswork than a polished, modern crystal chandelier drop. That irregularity is what gives the fixture its rustic, old-world character rather than a formal, symmetrical sparkle.
Is the distressed finish going to wear further over time, or is it fixed?
The distressed, antique look is applied as part of the finishing process, so it arrives already worn-in rather than developing that look gradually with use. It should hold its appearance over normal use, though like any finished metal, avoid abrasive cleaners that could alter the texture.
