The bulbs are exposed rather than covered — will that be too glary for a dining table?
The candle-style bulbs sit exposed above each scalloped glass bobeche, which is the traditional branch-chandelier look, but the light itself is multi-directional rather than a single hard beam — it scatters across the crystal strands and glass column before reaching the room. Choosing a candelabra-style bulb with a warm, soft-glow filament (rather than a clear, high-output one) keeps the look authentic without harsh glare at eye level.
What are the scalloped bobeches and the central glass column actually for?
The scalloped glass bobeches are the small dish-shaped pieces that sit beneath each candle-style bulb, historically meant to catch dripping wax on real candle fixtures — here they're a decorative nod to that tradition. The central glass column runs up the middle of the fixture as a structural and visual spine, tying the branch arms together and adding another surface for light to pass through.
All three sizes are the same height — what actually changes as I go up in size?
Just the spread and light count: the 6-Light Chapel (∅27.6″), 8-Light Manor (∅33.7″), and 10-Light Estate (∅37.6″) all sit at the same 23.7″ height, so going up a size widens the fixture's footprint and adds more branch arms and crystal strands rather than making it taller. How many bulbs do I need, and what type?
