Before you order

How is the Platet installed?
Hardwired onto a standard exterior-rated junction box, by a qualified electrician. Four steps:
  1. Cut power & confirm wiring. Switch off the circuit at your breaker and confirm the junction box is rated for outdoor/wet-location use.
  2. Mount the gooseneck arm. Secure the stainless steel base to the junction box, then match line-to-line, neutral-to-neutral, and ground.
  3. Position the cone shade. Aim the aluminum shade toward your entryway, patio seating, or garage door area for directed downlight.
  4. Restore power. Switch the circuit back on — the LED is built-in, so there's no bulb to install.
What does the IP54 wet rating actually mean?
IP54 means the fixture is protected against dust and against water splashing from any direction, making it suitable for covered patios, porches, and other exposed outdoor spots. It is not rated for full submersion or direct high-pressure water jets, so avoid locations with standing water or direct hose spray.
Since the LED is built-in, can it be replaced if it burns out?
The Platet uses a built-in integrated LED module rather than a screw-in bulb, so it isn't user-replaceable the way a standard bulb would be. Integrated LEDs are rated for a long service life under normal use, and the module can be serviced by an electrician if it ever needs attention.
Do the arm and shade need to match?
Not necessarily — the gooseneck arm comes in Rust Color or Black, while the cone shade offers a third option, Green, in addition to Black and Rust Color. Matching arm and shade gives a cohesive, single-tone look, while pairing a Black arm with a Green shade, for example, leans further into the industrial farmhouse character described in the listing.
