đ§ș Chasing Light: Meeting the Mediterranean Breeze in the Curve of Walnut
The story of Cestita began on a quiet evening in the Catalan countryside. I was sitting on a terrace overlooking the Mediterranean as the sun dipped below the horizon. In the distance, a local farmer finished his dayâs work, reaching down to pick up a traditional wicker basket filled with the day's harvest. As he walked toward his farmhouse, the silhouette of that "little basket"glowing in the golden hour struck me.
I thought to myself: Why canât light be like a harvest? Something we can gather, carry with us, and place wherever we need warmth?
That was the moment the Cestita lamp was born on my sketchbook. It is more than just a luminaire, it is a vessel for the Mediterranean sunset, designed to let you carry a piece of that golden light into your home.

đ The Vision: A Contemporary Harvest of Light
Cestita is more than a lamp; it is a "vessel for light" born from a dialogue between Mediterranean soul and modern functionality. My design philosophy was to distill the rustic charm of traditional Spanish lanterns into a contemporary classic.
By blending the romance of coastal heritage with the restraint of Modernism, I aimed to create a piece that honors its roots through an organic silhouette while serving the fluid needs of modern life. Itâs an exercise in balanceâutilizing a minimalist geometric structure and a portable handle to break the rigid boundaries of fixed lighting. It is a "living" object, designed to be carried like a basket of warm Mediterranean sunshine into every corner of your home.

âšMaterials: The Intersection of Nature and Purity
To achieve a sense of "elevated rusticity," I was uncompromising in the selection of materials:
The Frame (Walnut &Â Wood): Â I chose walnut and natural wood for its fine grain and deep, sophisticated hue. Natural wood for a light and airy feel, and a deep Walnut for a more grounded, sophisticated presence. Whether in the sun-kissed blonde of wood or the chocolate-rich hues of walnut, the natural grain gives each lamp a unique âfingerprint.â This organic warmth makes every interactionâevery time you lift the handleâa tactile pleasure.

The Shade (Opal Glass): Like a polished pearl, the white opal glass shade diffuses harsh light into a soft, velvety glow. It creates a dreamlike, ambient effect reminiscent of morning sunlight filtering through the mist.
âł Craftsmanship: The Art of Bending Time
The elegant curves of Cestita are not products of a mass-production line. Each piece is hand-built and assembled by European artisans using the ancient steam-bending process.
Craftsmen submerge the walnut wood in high-temperature steam until the rigid fibers become supple. Then, using a mix of strength and precision, they bend the wood over manual molds to achieve that perfect "U" shape. It is a slow, rhythmic process that imbues every lamp with the tension of the hand and the patience of time.

đĄ Seamless Living: Light on the Move
Cestitaâs brilliance lies in its effortless portability. With its lightweight frame and ergonomic handle, it is designed to move with youâfrom a focused study session to a quiet bedside. More than a lamp, it is a flexible companion that ensures the perfect Mediterranean ambiance is always within reach, wherever you choose to settle.

đĄ Versatility: Light Without Borders
The true charm of Cestita lies in its lack of boundaries. Thanks to its lightweight structure and iconic handle, it is not a stationary object but a companion that follows your daily path:
đ The Bedside Table: It serves as the gentlest companion for late-night reading. The opal glass filters out all glare, creating a cocoon of safety and calm that prepares the mind for rest.
đïž The Side Table or Living Room Corner: When the day ends and you sink into the sofa, Cestita creates a "spiritual island" of light. It fills dark corners with a warm glow, adding cinematic depth and layers to your living space.
đ The Bookshelf or Display Cabinet: Even when unlit, its walnut silhouette is a sculptural work of art. Once turned on, it highlights your books and collectibles, adding a sophisticated texture to your interior design.
𧞠Floor Decoration: This is a truly contemporary way to style the lamp. Placing it directly on a thick rug or a hardwood floor allows the light to reflect off the ground, making the room feel taller, cozier, and more grounded.
đ· The Terrace and Balcony: On a cool evening, carry it outside. Whether you are enjoying the breeze on a balcony or sharing a glass of wine on the terrace, the glow of Cestita recreates that effortless Mediterranean holiday vibe right at home.
âšLight should do more than just illuminate the dark; it should be an extension of our emotions. Cestita is my gift to the homeâa reminder to slow down. I hope that as you carry this "little basket" through your halls, you feel the same peace and freedom of a Mediterranean summer night.
