Explore the Brass Collection →Most "brass" fixtures on the market are zinc alloy with a thin copper coat — peeling within three years. Lumioshine uses solid H59 brass throughout: 59%+ copper content, twice the density, and a surface that only grows richer with age.
Lift it and you'll know. Every Lumioshine fixture is cast from solid H59 brass — uniform walls, dense and substantial. That weight is the material's most honest introduction.
Each piece is lost-wax cast, then hand-filed, polished and finished through at least twelve manual processes. No machine-stamped parts. Ever.
In lighting, "brass" is widely misused. These four qualities separate the real thing from everything else.
Real brass oxidises naturally into a deep, rich patina over time. Ten years in, it looks better than the day it was installed.
Copper ions continuously inhibit bacterial growth on the surface. Ideal for bathrooms and dining spaces.
Surface scratches or oxidation spots buff out completely with brass wax or fine-grit paper.
At ~8.5 g/cm³, brass is denser than aluminium and more corrosion-resistant than iron.
Brass colour is not paint — it's the result of chemical reaction, electroplating or mechanical treatment applied directly to the metal. The colour cannot peel.
A finish is not just a colour — it's how brass interacts with light. Each surface treatment creates a completely different mood.
High-polished brass glows amber under warm light and develops a richer patina with use.
