The Inspiration
Two soft domes of glass, on a stem of polished chrome.
The Bombolo is a 1970s Italian-style table lamp drawn from the bedside-lamp tradition shaped by Murano glassmakers in the late 1960s and 70s — stacked rounded shades on a slim chrome cylinder, an honest little form that has quietly outlived every passing trend.
The hand-finished cased-glass shade is rounded twice, like a small macaron, and seated on a polished chrome base with a clean push-button switch on the cord. Small enough for a nightstand, sculptural enough for a console — a piece of warm 70s Italy made for American bedrooms, reading corners, and entryways.
One Size
Sized for nightstands, side tables, and console tops — small enough not to crowd, just sculptural enough to read as decor when unlit.
The Make
Polished chrome-plated iron base, stem, and ceiling-disc plate.
Hand-finished double-dome glass shade in five soft colors.
Where It Lives
A plug-in lamp at this scale is meant to sit at hand-height — beside a bed, at the edge of a desk, on a console table by the door. Below are the four placements customers most often choose.
The Bombolo is sized for a nightstand. The push-button switch sits inline on the cord, easy to reach without leaving the bed. The white and beige shades work best for late-night reading.
Set on an entryway console, the Bombolo greets guests with warm, low-angle light. The orange and red shades work especially well as a pop of color against a darker wood console.
Compact enough for the corner of a writing desk or a small side table beside a chair. Diffused glass keeps the light soft on the page without the glare of a focused task lamp.
A matched pair on either end of a sideboard or pair of side tables reads as quiet symmetry — a gentler statement than a single overhead fixture, and easier to dim for evening light.
The Particulars
Bulb sold separately — fits a standard E26 / E27 base, 40 W maximum (the most common bulb size in the US). Plug-in with a 59-inch cord and inline push-button switch — no electrician needed, ready to use out of the box.
