Two starting points: Orange Red base + Black shade reads boldest, with the strongest gallery-installation feel; Brown Grey base + White or Pink shade reads quieter, more residential, and disappears into a layered living room. The shade always takes visual priority because of its dome height — pick that first, then choose the base to either contrast (drama) or echo (calm).
Which size suits a console vs. a side table?

Does the iron shade get hot during use?
