Frequently Asked

Before you order

How adjustable is the arm — and how far can it reach?
The Frida's articulating arm pivots at multiple points, letting you swing the light source left, right, up, or down after installation. The Compact arm (W 21.5 cm) brings the bulb close to the wall for soft ambient wash; the Extended arm (W 35.5 cm) pushes it further out for a tighter, more focused beam — ideal for reading or task work where precise placement matters.
What makes solid brass the right material here?
Brass is denser and more dimensionally stable than zinc or aluminium alternatives, which means the articulating joints hold their set angle under repeated adjustment without loosening over time. The antique finish is applied over solid brass — not a plated base — so surface wear from handling only deepens the patina rather than exposing a different metal beneath.
Where does the Frida work best in a room?
Its adjustable arm makes it especially well suited to bedside reading (angled down and inward), home office task lighting (directed at desk level), vanity or dressing areas (flanking a mirror for even facial illumination), and gallery walls (aimed at artwork from above). The minimalist silhouette stays out of the way visually in each of these contexts.
Can two Fridas be installed symmetrically?
Yes — the Frida pairs naturally in matched sets. Both sizes share the same wall plate footprint, so flanking a headboard, mirror, or artwork with one on each side creates a balanced, deliberate look. Mixing sizes (Compact on one side, Extended on the other) can also work in asymmetric interiors where varied reach is useful.
What bulb works best, and is it dimmable?
The fixture takes an E12 or E14 base bulb at 15 W maximum, sold separately. For the warmest tone against antique brass, we recommend a warm-white (2700 K) filament-style LED — the exposed bulb becomes part of the visual. Dimming is possible with a dimmable bulb and a compatible wall dimmer, giving full control from ambient mood to bright task light.

The Solid Brass Lighting Collection

More Than a Light. A Metal That Breathes.

Solid H59 brass — hand-forged, never fades, only deepens with age. Built to last a lifetime and look better for it.

Solid Brass · Better With Every Year

True Luxury Is a Material That Stands the Test of Time

Most "brass" fixtures on the market are zinc alloy with a thin copper coat — peeling within three years. Lumioshine uses solid H59 brass throughout: 59%+ copper content, twice the density, and a surface that only grows richer with age.

01 — Solid Cast
Solid Cast · No Plating. No Compromise.

The Weight in Your Hand Is the Truth of Real Brass

Lift it and you'll know. Every Lumioshine fixture is cast from solid H59 brass — uniform walls, dense and substantial. That weight is the material's most honest introduction.

Each piece is lost-wax cast, then hand-filed, polished and finished through at least twelve manual processes. No machine-stamped parts. Ever.

02 — Four Core Advantages

Why Choose Solid Brass?

In lighting, "brass" is widely misused. These four qualities separate the real thing from everything else.

Solid Brass Quality
Never Fades

Improves With Age

Real brass oxidises naturally into a deep, rich patina over time. Ten years in, it looks better than the day it was installed.

Antimicrobial

Naturally Antibacterial

Copper ions continuously inhibit bacterial growth on the surface. Ideal for bathrooms and dining spaces.

Restorable

Scratches Polish Out

Surface scratches or oxidation spots buff out completely with brass wax or fine-grit paper.

Structural

Dense. Strong. Stable.

At ~8.5 g/cm³, brass is denser than aluminium and more corrosion-resistant than iron.

03 — Colouring Process

Brass Colouring /Chemical Finishing

Brass colour is not paint — it's the result of chemical reaction, electroplating or mechanical treatment applied directly to the metal. The colour cannot peel.

Chemical Oxidation → Antique, aged brown, verdigris. Electroplating → Nickel, chrome. Mechanical Brushing → Satin texture.
04 — Finish Exhibition

One Brass. Six Entirely Different Personalities.

A finish is not just a colour — it's how brass interacts with light. Each surface treatment creates a completely different mood.
